Mercy Meals

Each Saturday First UMC is the host church for meals served to those in need in the community.  Meals are served from 11:30 am til 1:00pm.  

 

 

 

 

 

  Did you know, 7,404 donuts were served at Mercy Meals in 2009? Major food donations to help FUMC in its cooperative mission with Eastside Baptist Church comes from donors like Poppy's Famous Donuts.  

There are many opportunities to serve in this weekly meal for the community.  Food prepartion and serving as well as just being a presence to those in need that join us in our Fellowship Hall each Saturday.    

 

  Volunteers in Mission

Volunteers in Mission are those opportunities to serve outside our community on 3 to 7 day trips throughout the U.S. and internationally.  Trips may include recovery and rebuilding after a natural disaster or assisting with packing of items at the UMCOR Depot.  Many skills are needed and many can be learned as it is the hope of First UMC to go serve on a VIM twice a year.  Contact Sarah Jarvis for trip information.  Additional information on volunteering through the United Methodist Church can be found at www.umocm.com
